Ima Call Her Nessa

Look at that smirk! She's knows she's on the fast track to 'It Girl' status. Introducing Baby V!! I'm sure girls around the globe under the age of 13 worship Vanessa Anne Hudgens, but it wasn't until recently that I started to take notice of this High School Musical beauty. I've seen both movies (.....don't. you. judge. me!) and just thought, engh. Running, dancing, singing, corny lines, same old Disney. I do NOT understand the hype. The only thing that stood out, was this girl. She is GORGEOUS. And off the Disney set, she's not too shabby!

Yeah, she's hot! I may have what the kids are calling a girl crush on her. She's mixed Filipino, Chinese (from her mother) & Irish and American Indian (from her father). And for all the Gabriella fans out there, sorry but she's a bit more eclectic and edgy than her character. She's into rock music, is a trained opera singer, and you might remember her as 'good girl' Noel from the movie Thirteen.

Throughout the summer she's been rocking vibrant brights that look amazing on her colouring.
She makes sure to tone it down with her signature messy curly hair and soft makeup.
She also loves long flowing dresses for the red carpet. She glows in all three (yes glows dammit!) simply accessorizing with a clutch. And even though she does seem to favour overdressing in long dresses, she has no problem rockin' shorter cute frocks as well. I especially love the middle look. And the black dress as well. And the purple dress for that matter.
And here are some of her looks strolling about:

Aw, her and her boy accessory look really cute, but I really don't care if they're together or not. I know that's the big question they get asked a lot, but c'mon, people, do they need a sign? Also (random observation) in these three pics, he is wearing the same glasses each time and so is she. I lovee that Balenciaga bag she's carrying, especially the gold studs.
Overall Vanessa's style is young, trendy and really cute. Hope she keeps it up, I'll be watching Nessa!

If Only the Kids Weren't Acting Up Again

Lindsay Lohan graces yet another fall cover, this time for Pop Magazine. Another young starlet on a magazine cover is what first came to mind. But she's a pretty girl and the camera loves her, so why not eh? Plus, just like her September pics for Elle (which is a eNoRmOuS by the way, and I love that I am still trying to get through it) Lindsay looks pretty damn hot! Minus the cancer stick. And for what it's worth, this most likely Lindsay preRehab and DUI drama because of her hair colour.

Hope when you're in bed with her, You Think Of Me

Yes, so I am currently planning my end of summer trip to ..MONTREAL!! Yeah!! I'm so excited! I'll be gone for a couple weeks though. Instead of packing, I'm watching the Teen Choice Awards and Kelly Clarkson is performing 'Never Again.' I looove her voice, she should sing some blues or something more soulful, her voice is perfect for it, sucks how her label only sees her as pop. But anywhoo! She worked it on the red carpet in a BCBG Max Azria white dress from the Fall 2007 collection. I think she looks great, she keeps it light and summery as apposed to what's on the model.
So who rocks it better, Kelly or the model?

For the Angels Without Prada

Back to school shopping is beginning all over, and going through the Forever 21 site I see so many things that I want!!! Is there a word for clothes gluttony?? If so I think I am suffering from that! Here's only a few of the many items I want ( I don't know if they are exactly good for school...but who needs practical??):

Rosary Cream Tunic $15.80; Michigan Gold Pump $19.80; Purple Metallic Knit Tunic $24.80

V Neck White Hoodie $13.80; Tweed Shorts $22.80

Ruched Tunic $15.80; Delightful Sweater Top $17.80; LS Knit Top $10.80

All this for $141.40! Well before shipping and taxes etc etc, but good deal non?

And oh yeah!
Why do these two insist on being so vulgar? They're hot and everything, but save it for the bedroom!

I'm a Movement By Myself, But I'm a Force When We're Together

Boys Fashion
It took awhile to evolve but menswear has finally taken a step to the foreground in fashion. Blame metrosexuals. But everyone does like a well dressed boy, a cool guy with style. Such as the one above.
Here are some looks to love from Fall 2007 Menswear lines. Inform your boyfriends.

Paul Smith Alessandro Dell'Acqua

I love how tailored these looks are, and because they are classic formal looks, any guy can look good in them. Thin pants but not skinny jeans, worn low but not falling off. It can also be made a bit more casual with a decent sneaker, such as in Lanvin, & Alessandro Dell' Acqua. My suggestion: converse. All black converse, or black and white, such as these:

I love the masculine clean cut look, so I never thought I'd be into the whole 'man purse' thing. After all how much do they really need to carry? Wallet? Cell phone? But the two worked hand in hand to create some of my favourite outfits in the Dolce & Gabbana line:

Men are also rockin wide leg trousers on the runway ( Yves Saint Laurent):
Things to know about men's fashion:
- the model's are hot! Though some may be thinner than you are.
- the looks are similar
- street wear does not exist
- you may be appaled by the creations from your favourite designers for their men's lines
- just because it is a male designer doesn't mean their collection will be good

DO wear fake fur around the collar
DON'T don full fur coat a la Andre Leon Tally. Especially one with short sleeves, pants and shoes of the same colour, and buggy sunglasses.

DO experiment with colours, prints and shapes
DON'T wear clashing colours, prints and shapes all the same time

DO layer
DON'T look homeless

DO wear dark denim
DO wear light denim
DON'T try to pass off the jeans you accidentally added bleach too as wearable
DON'T wear tie dye!
(I'm sure guys don't anyways, but I thought I'd throw that in there as well)

Tip for Male Models: Please don't SNARL on the runway. It's not sexy. This isn't Zoolander. This one messed up this Michael Kors Picture for me becuase I couldn't get over his expression! I know you're stuck with a famous female counterpart stealing your shine, but c'mon!

And to end it off with my favourite men's collection! Etro!
It's nerdy done right! So cute!

If Willy Wonka had Eyeshadow

Meet Ami Penfold:
She's a 31 year-old beauty and art director who at such a young age has established herself as one of the best makeup artists in the world! With 10 years in the business as an international artist, some of her work has been published in Vogue, Elle, and many other magazines. She's primarily based in London, Paris and New York. I just randomly saw some of her work and immediately wanted to see more! She has creativity coming out of her ears! Here are some of her works I especially loved:

What do you guys think? She's spectacular eh?
Source 1, et 2

P.S.

So fab, the cover looks beautiful. Tyra, Iman, Alek, and Kimora came together for Ebony Magazine's September Issue. This issue covers 50 pages worth of the history and success of Blacks in fashion, as well as the history of Ebony Fashion Fair. I see people are still hating on Naomi! GEEZ! LOL

Does anyone else feel that BREEZE....

Oh geez louise, the Olsens can either dress impeccably chic, a la Ashley Olsen at the airport recently:
Or take a horrendous wrong turn and look.....well, like this:
Mary Kate shuffling along right behind her sister.
I really don't pick favourites, but all I have to say is Ashley seems to maintain a casual chic style, while her twin, although a fashion risk taker, sometimes comes off as sloppy. Or homeless. Any thoughts?

Don't Knock Em

Lazy days, lazy days, not enough posting. My solution: a slightly rambling post revealing the random goings on. Well, full steam ahead! Firstly...
I want mez a pair : Bamboo Hoops
$7.99

As the title says don't knock em! I know everyone has got them, but whatever.
I'd like to think our generation is just becoming more fashionable. They're just fun bold accessories that add a certain edginess to an outfit.
Hmm, this blog post caught my attention though, about how "ghetto chic" is being copied in mainstream America *cough & Britain cough Lily Allen*
And staying with the whole gold theme, I LOVE these shoes!
Louis Vuitton
Feerique T-Strap Sandal

They're so HOT! And for a mere $855.00 they can be yours! Oh lawd! That could buy me quite a few more pairs of shoes. But ..they're so pretty! The tonal purple satin, the unique gold buckle and the graphic heel, ahhhh it's all too much.

Now I'm definitely not qualified to be giving book reviews but I just finished reading:

...and I thought it was pretty good. Yes, the only reason I even picked it up was because it was Nicole Richie's first attempts at writing and curiosity slapped my hand down onto it. She says it's a "fiction" novel, but it eerily resembles her life.
It's about this young socialite Chloe, not necessarily famous, but along with her rich semi-famous friends tear up the nightclubs and engage in not-so-legal-activities. Nicole has put herself actually in the story as a friend of Chloe's, reformed and just looking out for her friend. It's kind of like the character 'Nicole' is the present day Nicole Richie, and 'Chloe' is the drug addicted wild old Nicole Richie. Chloe is bombarded with reality commercials she has to do with an old friend, Simone. Simone is CLEARLY Paris Hilton inspired, as she is a tall model, toting miniature chihuahuas who don't even belong to her and is actually a bad influence on Chloe! Hmm... Plus there's so many other similarities to her life, such as Chloe's love interest DJ Ray, her adopted musician father, and her love for music. But overall, there's too many lead characters, a slow beginning, and a very satisfying ending! I give it a 4 out of 5! Yeah me!

Up next on my reading list is the life and times of model Alek Wek!

Can't wait!

And speaking of things I can't wait for, how PSYCHED is everyone for The HILLS!!!!

First off, how GOOD do the girls look this season?!!! Lauren especially looks amazing! I think she's come a long way from Laguna Beach and is more confident in her own skin these days. We'll just have to see on Mondays!! Can't wait, can't wait!

To here an interview Heidi and the Beast did for Ryan Seacrest click HERE
It's the usual obnoxious Spencer, and he address the whole LC "beef curtains" thing, Perez Hilton, Joel Madden and lots more!

Until season 3 starts though, I think I'm just going to load up on magazines since they all seem to have their "BIGGEST ISSUES EVER" featuring fall fashion out around this time. Ashley looks adorable on the cover of Marie Claire, like the sophisticated young lady she is.

And I also plan on getting a copy of Elle featuring every ones favourite wild child Lindsay Lohan. She looks so forced on the cover, but I like the actual editorial inside.

Love the drunk confusion in the second picture.

So ending off with, what I think, I one of the cutest pics either of these two girls has taken in awhile:

Here's Mischa and Rihanna at the launch for Paper magazine party celebrating Rihanna's first ever cover at New York City’s Amalia on Monday. They both looked amazing, even though Rihanna wore a leg brace not shown in the picture and Mischa had on a plastic dress.

Till next time homies!
