Rememba DAHlings, Fashion Is FUN!

Behati backstage at Versace

Irina and Coco hangout backstage at Missoni

Behind the scenes....they're pretty cute! I love looking at pictures of models behind the scenes. It's cool to see them getting their makeup & hair done, and interacting with other models, seeing which ones are friendly (and not so friendly). It's also a little reminder that even though they may lead abnormal extravagant lives, they're still human, they get tired, hungry, and silly. I personally sometimes forget that and put them on pedestals, and think they are all so amazing! But seeing them like this gives them more points in my books.

Stam doing a little twirl in Dior

Coco backstage at Versace. I love the whole makeup-done-but-still-in-curlers look. It's not candid, but it kinda looks like she she heard someone behind her while she was getting ready and looked up.

Lily and Behati backstage at Christian Lacroix

Yup vintage Naomi and Pat and Valentino SS04. Couldn't help myself, I just mostly like Naomi's makeup and outfit and Pats expression LOL

Daria schmoozing backstage at Dior! It's good to see her loosen up.

It's gonna be a longg day! (Dolce & Gabbana)

Hilary lookin hot (Oscar de la Renta)

Uh HUH! A sassy Iekeliene is too cute! (Balenciaga)

I dunno who she is but she was for sure a character
backstage at Lagerfeld! The monkey face is soo funny!

Tres tres amusement at Lagerfeld.
What what! They even raised the roof!

Looks like they're chillin at Zac Posen. Do they get a lot of downtime?

LMAO! Who is punching her?! LOL, I don't even know who this girl is, but there are so many pictures of her goofing around backstage it's not even funny! She's sucha joker!

I have so many more pictures, but I figure if you want to browse around for more, you'll just click HERE

Shut. Up!

It's Stacy London

You may recognize her from a certain show called What Not To Wear on TLC, where herself and Clinton scheme & ambush people (with the help of their families). In exchange for their lackluster wardrobe they get $5000 to shop for more flattering outfits for day, work, evening, and weekends in New York City!

I love watching this show, more for entertainment purposes than style ideas because they are mainly trying to create core looks with pieces such as blazers, trousers, & pencil skirts. The transformations are usually amazing, but what Stacy's wearing is the look to watch! For someone to have the BALLS to pin point every negative detail in someone else's wardrobe and then throw out said wardrobe, they must have a killer ensemble on at ALL times. And every episode she does just that. This witty fashionista makes grey streaks (on black hair) look classy, and screams "SHUT UP!" whenever she's excited or really happy. But more importantly, the girl knows how to look good.

Facts Worth Knowing (let's be straight here, do you care about her whole bio? or do you want to know the interesting stuff?)
- has two degrees! one in German literature, and one in philosophy
- began career at Vogue magazine as a fashion assistant
- she likes to listen to Kanye West
- once fashion editor of Mademoiselle magazine
- that grey streak in her hair? she's had it since she was 12!
- owns 300 pairs of high heels. I. Can't. Even. Imagine.
- spoke at Harvard University about personal style's connection to self esteem
- Stacy's advice for a quick fashion fix? Great pair of heels, good shade of lipstick, a stiff drink

" Shoes from Christian Louboutin. A girl will just never truly know what it means to be a flirt without them. They are pure sex on a stiletto."

"Don't get hung up on the size. If you feel bad about yourself because a 12 is what fits, take a Sharpie, and write '6' on the label."

*It's cRazY hard to find pictures of this woman's outfits, after all she doesn't exactly have the paps following her a la Lindsay Lohan. She's never alone, or they're small, or blurry......to her fans, I'm sorry, I know these don't do her justice.

"Models make money by scoring big ad campaigns and contracts. While runway shows may gain them recognition, they don't pay as well ($250 an hour) and only happen a few times a year."

"But if you're an honest-to-God model, you go to a gym before you come to work; you have one boyfriend who buys you your dinner. You go to bed good and early. No nonsense. You'd never see one in a nightclub." - Diana Vreeland former e-i-c of vogue mag

Well well well, looks like last year the rich kept getting richer! But I do have something to say, WHERE IS NAOMI??!?!? I guess community service does take away from your work,
and is Tyra not considered a model anymore?
And the oldest on this list is only 34?
Sorry, Gisele makes HOW MUCH??
Wow. I guess a congrats is in order, also to Liya Kebede and Jessica Stam, two of my favourites who were 11 and 15.
So what have we learned?
a) Supermodels today are not only beautiful, & young, but smart business savvy women who study have mastered their craft.
b) VICTORIA SECRET MODELS GET MAD PAY
c) Side projects are GOOD, so if you're the 'soccer girl', or 'writer girl' or whatever, try something new. Naomi should of tried javelin
c) You can't make money while in court

But now I'm thinking are these girls overpaid??

Who Is This Girl???

Genevieve Jones

Style.com has a total of 22 pictures of this girl, and my question was: WHO?? I'd never seen her before and decided to investigate *ahem* research.

For years she went only as "Genevieve", a young socialite living in New York who started appearing at fashion events all over town. She partied with models, and schmoozed with local designers. AND NO ONE ASKED ANY QUESTIONS!! The March 2006 Issue of Vogue even called her it's "Girl of The Moment."

So at 27, how did this social climber become part of the fashion world? What is her background, what's her family like, did she go to school? How does she make her money, is she a model, businesswomen?

It wasn’t until writer Teri Agins recently (in 2006) probed a little deeper into the fashionista’s life for a piece called “How an ‘It Girl’ Scaled the World of Fashion” for the Wall Street Journal that we began to learn more about her. And the truth was....shocking! Agins dug up public records putting Genevieve’s real age at 31! The horror! It was all too much for Genevieve who went running home to Baton Rouge, La. the day after the story went public! But wait, Louisiana?? Not Beverly Hills? Unlike famous-for-being-famous heiress Paris, Genevieve Jones is the daughter of working-class parents. Her father is a chemical engineer, and her mom is a homemaker – not necessarily occupations churning out enough moola to fund Genevieve’s designer wardrobe. It's rumored that a wealthy billionaire boyfriend is in fact the one behind her glamorous lifestyle.

and Tinsley Mortimer,

For some reason, people also feel the need to question her ethnicity, calling her "mysterious" and "exotic." In the Wall Street Journal article they imply of her British born father, & Trinidadian mother, but honestly, look at her. Of COURSE, the girl is black! Gawker.com's interpretation of the article clarity's that, yes, she is indeed black. The comments are HILARIOUS:

Ruby Apple: So wait, are you saying she's black or something?

ELLAGOOD: Black is the new black

OilyBOHunk: Oh my God, Karen, you can't just ask socialites why they're black!

Xhack:George Bush doesn't care about Genevieve Jones

Kwalshie: She [has the] lollipop head look down pat.

Cacy: Rilly. Stop. Already. And her name is pronounced John V ev... Not Jenna Viev!!!

In the end, her new friends stood by her, no matter her deception and she is still enjoying the Manhattan party scene. However if this is giving any of you ideas, HALT! Let this be a lesson to anyone hoping to deceive, you WILL get caught! Lucky for her, she was able to bounce back, and the situation could have been worse. I actually even commend her efforts. It shows that if you get into enough parties, photographers will start to take your picture, and then others will notice and want to be around you and you will end up a socialite!

Genevieve was a randomly fabulous party girl, who at the right place at the right time. Fame came to her, not unlike Cory Kennedy, non?

Now Smell This

Ah! Gwen in a box! Am I the last to find out about the latest addition to her L.A.M.B. "empire"? Her perfume is called "L" & (judging from the ad) smells like...a soaking wet Gwen....so ...bleach? Not too sure....but it's described as having top notes of sparkling green freshness, leafy water hyacinth, white freesia, fresh pear and violet leaves. Tres confusing. But no matter the smell, I guarantee fans will be purchasing it anyway exclusively at Nordstorms where the bottles range from $55 -$70 US.

"Every designer basically fantasizes about a fragrance being part of their collection," Gwen says. "Basically, it's another thing to put on in the morning."

"I Want You All Over Me" is the print ad's provocative tag line.
I don't need a tag line, it's Gwen! Plus look at the bottle:

Alas, I must wait to get this fragrance since I'm saving to get quite a few. I'm easily persuaded by ads, not if there's a celebrity or anything, but if the ad is hot, I'll go out and look for it. Two perfumes I have approved of ( ad, smell, bottle shape, etc etc) & am hoping of getting soon are these:

The first one Escada Sunset is such a light mango summery smell, perfect for this time of year, but it definitely won't work in a few months, so that's where J'adore Dior comes in. It's a more strong sophisticated smell that I can use throughout the year.

Being my usual surfer self I came across a couple pictures I wanted to share:

It's LiLo & MISCHA!!
How cute we're they?!?
If anyone saw Georgia Rule, remember the part where Georgia is waiting for Rachel to show up and looks at an actual picture of Lindsay Lohan when she was young, and has this "what went wrong?!?!" look on her face? I HAD that same FACE looking at this picture. She was adorable, who would of known a wild thang lied within?

& it's Audrina and Gabrielle Union! These two are soo gorgeous, and I can't wait to see season three of the Hills, and the next movie Gabby comes out with. Daddy's Little Girls was really good!

5 Questions for Baptista

1.What's with the masks?
2. Did you design this at a rave?
3. Wait, was that a CAPE??
4. Did your couture line and a few PartyMart costumes get mixed up?
If so, you played it off nicely.
5. No really, why the masks??
Like the little school mate in the school yard,
We'll play jacks and uno cards.
I'll be your BEST FRIEND and you'll be my, Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to
'Cause I want to HOLD YOURS TOO
We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself and center, clarity

Peace, Serenity

And I'm gonna MISS YOU like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now

And ... Big Girls Don't Cry

All Kinds of Wonderful

Stella is a painter and drawer living in New York City. She has a background in industrial design and toy design, but wants to make her work more personal and expressive. I think she is extremely creative and thought I'd showcase some of the ones I especially like.

Her work is dainty, yet expressive and at times passionate. It fasinated me how artists are able to not only identify, but relay their emotions on paper, through pictures, so that others in turn connect to them, & feel that same emotion."When she’s not drawing or painting, she likes to eat while thinking of more food to eat; search for the perfect cupcake; eat ice cream at the park; and just walk around her most favorite city in the world."
I want them all.
What do you think of Stella's artwork?
